All funeral services will be performed by Dignity. They'll take you into their care and provide support for your loved ones when the time comes. You can take your pick below from three plans to suit you.

The premiums quoted are for the first year only. Premiums increase each year for a maximum of 20 years and will stop completely when you reach age 90, or when you pass away (whichever comes first).

Can I choose a burial instead of a cremation?

Things to consider


  • After you’ve had your plan for two years, SunLife guarantee to cover the cost of a funeral when you’re gone.

  • Depending on how long you live, you could pay more in premiums than the proceeds of the life insurance policy paid to Dignity. For example, if you take out a Traditional Funeral plan now at age 69 with a starting monthly premium of £30.62 a month, then after you’ve had the plan for 10 years and 6 months, you will have paid more in premiums than the amount paid to Dignity when the claim is made.

  • If you end your cover, you won’t get anything back and your chosen funeral services will not be provided.

  • Direct cremation is only available in mainland UK.

  • Please note that for Traditional Plus, any costs incurred for the separate ceremony would need to be paid for at the time.

  • If a medical certificate is required, this would incur a small additional cost.
